Îïèñàíèå: c/n 14807/26252 Built in October 1944 as a C-47B-10-DK Skytrain with the US military serial 43-48991. Immediately transferred to the Royal Air Force as a Dakota IV with serial KJ960 and had joined Air Command South East Asia (ACSEA) by that November. By 1946 it was in based in India but had come to the UK by December 1947 and moved to what was then the Royal Hellenic Air Force in September 1949, retaining the serial KJ960. Fitted with a VIP interior, it then became part of the Royal Hellenic VIP Transport Flight, later renamed the Royal Hellenic VVIP Transport Flight. In December 1967 it was involved in the King Constantine II’s attempt to overthrow the military junta, flying the King and his family to Kavala on 13th December. On 14th December, after the coup failed, KJ960 flew them on to Rome where they remained in exile. KJ960 immediately returned to Greece and continued in service with the Headquarters Flight of the Hellenic Air Force until finally retired in April 1994.
