Îïèñàíèå: These are nine of at least thirteen nuclear-powered submarines currently laid up at Devonport waiting for long-term decommissioning. A combination of Trafalgar and Swiftsure-class submarines, I don’t know which they are by name, but from far to near they carry the following numbers on the front of their conning towers: - 01, 08, 09, 12, 15, 13, 10 and 14. Nearest is HMS Conqueror (S48), a Churchill-class submarine commissioned in 1971 and decommissioned in 1990. She is the only nuclear-powered submarine to have ever engaged an enemy ship with torpedoes, famously sinking the Argentinian cruiser ‘General Belgrano’ during the Falklands conflict.
