Îïèñàíèå: Established in July 2016 by the Australian War Animal Memorial Organization, this was the first international animal memorial. It includes a memorial to the Officers and Soldiers of the Australian Army Veterinary Corps. The location, the former site of the Pozi`eres Ridge Windmill, was chosen due to the enormous number of animals lost during the Battle of the Somme. In addition to military animals, it is believed that some 9,000,000 farm animals were also lost during WW1. It is located to the North of Pozi`eres on the D929 road.
