Îïèñàíèå: This cleverly constructed memorial commemorates the life of Manfred Von Richthofen, commonly known as “The Red Baron”. He was shot down and killed near the village of Vaux-sur-Somme on 21st April 1918, whilst flying his familiar overall red Fokker Dr.I ‘425/17’. The memorial is sited near the D233 road, just to the west of the village. The actual crash site was near the D1 road at the top of the hill, less than a mile to the North-west of the village.
