Îïèñàíèå: c/n unknown (the second of six built) Based on the fuselage of an Avro 504N and fitted with a 200hp Armstrong Siddeley Lynx engine, the C.8L Mark II had a cruising speed of 85mph and an endurance of up to 3 hours. This is the second of six built and was owned by Air Commodore James G. Wier. It competed in the 1928 Kings Cup Air Race and in September 1928 it made the first rotary-winged crossing of the English Channel, during a journey from Croydon to Le Bourget. It was acquired by the museum in 1937 and is on display in the Helicopters Hall (Hall 9) at the Mus'ee de l'air et de l'espace. Le Bourget Airport, Paris, France. 12th July 2022
