Îïèñàíèå: c/n M3 Designed and built by Ateliers Vosgiens d'Industrie A'eronautique (Avia), the Avia 41p was a high-performance glider intended to set gliding records. The prototype first flew in late 1932 and the second in 1935. Between them they successfully set many French and world gliding records, including a 237-mile flight in 1938. Expensive to build, only five more were produced after the initial two. These five saw military service until the outbreak of war in 1939. This example is the third of the seven built and had a slight dihedral not present in the earlier two. On 17th September 1936 it carried out a 129-mile flight, reaching an altitude of over 6,000ft. The only survivor, it is on display in the Interwar Hall at the Mus'ee de l'air et de l'espace. Le Bourget Airport, Paris, France. 12th July 2022
