Îïèñàíèå: c/n LZ 121 A Y-class Zeppelin, the civilian LZ121 was built in 1919 and intended to carry around 25 passengers on a Friedrichshafen – Berlin – Stockhlom route. It was 429ft long, had a diameter of 61ft and could reach 80mph. Completed in January 1920, it was named ‘Nordstern’ but did not enter German service as the allies had forbidden postwar Zeppelin production. Allocated to France as war reparations, it eventually departed Friedrichshafen on 13th June 1921. Operated by Soci'et'e Anonyme de Navigation A'erienne (SANA), it was renamed ‘M'editerran'ee’ and operated between southern France and Algeria. It was transferred to the French Navy in April 1922 and used for training, which included manoeuvres in the Mediterrean during 1923. Later restricted to short flights, it was retired in 1926 and used for structural tests before being scrapped. The frame of the nose cone has survived and is on display in the Interwar Hall at the Mus'ee de l'air et de l'espace. Le Bourget Airport, Paris, France. 12th July 2022
