Îïèñàíèå: c/n 8519.477 (also reported as 8519.428) The Simoun was designed as a four-seat tourer but the type also carried out some record-setting long-distance flights. The C.635M was a military liaison variant of which 489 were built. Mainly in French service, they also flew in small numbers with Belgium, Hungary, Britain, the US Navy and some captured examples with the Luftwaffe. This Simoun is, I believe, one of only two surviving examples and is a C.635M which saw French military service as T-585. In June 1940 it was used by a Staff Sergeant Drayfus in an attempt to fly to Morocco. When he landed in Northern Portugal he was interned there and the aeroplane seized. It was civil registered as CS-ADG during 1944. It has now been painted to represent ‘F-ANRO’, a civilian C.630 built in 1935 with the c/n 7017.19 and is on display in the Interwar Hall at the Mus'ee de l'air et de l'espace. Le Bourget Airport, Paris, France. 12th July 2022
