Îïèñàíèå: c/n 976 This is the only surviving original Nieuport 11. Its genuine military identity is N976, although it is currently marked as N556 to represent the machine flown by Commandant Charles de Tricornot de Rose. Known as the father of French fighter aircraft, de Rose organised the French fighter force into groups of six or nine and carried out continuous patrols during the Battle of Verdun, quickly establishing air superiority over the German flying forces. A very pretty aeroplane, in my opinion, it is on display in the Great War Hall at the Mus'ee de l'air et de l'espace. Le Bourget Airport, Paris, France. 12th July 2022
