фото: Update 19 August 2019. Litter & Dumping on Rail Embankment near 23 Lordship Lane

Описание: In March 2019 I reported extensive dumping on the embankment and alley near the railway bridge close to 23 Lordship Lane N17. On 19 August 2019, Zena and I walked by and were pleased to see both substantially cleared. Though not completely. And more bottles and cans had appeared . A map of London's railway lines show a vast spiderweb, linking centre and suburbs; or suburb to suburb. Not only in tunnels - the London Tube network. But excavated cuttings which give the overground lines a level gradient through the surrounding soil. Complemented in other places by embankments and bridges over relatively low lying ground. In each case the steep sides of the land either side of the lines offer spaces for litter and dumped rubbish. Plainly this is a widespread problem. I'm not excusing litter and dumping. And it seems odd how some people "read" such fenced spaces as something like a waste basket. Anyone reading this who has seen useful ways to tackle the problem is welcome to send me a Flickrmail.
