Описание: Poster on the railings of the British Museum shows a woman sleeping. § Link to the Museums' webpage about the exhibition - which used a reproduction of the same drawing - below. Though without a reflection from the buildings across the street. § We haven't yet seen the exhibition, which closes on 4 August 2019. The British Museum website says that: "... this stunning exhibition will highlight Rembrandt’s technical and creative ingenuity on paper. § Which reminded me of some comments on drawing in the writing of John Berger. "For the artist drawing is discovery." While they may be admired for technique and dexterity, he suggests that more significant is the process of discovery as they work on a drawing. A process which, he suggested, applied for many artists. Including "... how Rembrandt discovered his figures as though encompassing them with the knowledge of a father. " "In every case one senses their surprise.: Link to New Statesman re-publication of a piece by Berger in 1953.
