Описание: 21 October 2018 Zena and I went to listen to John Hinshelwood talk about conscientious objectors in the First World War. This was a public even held in a room at the London Islamic Cultural Society and Mosque in Wightman Road, London N8. "The Haringey First World War Peace Forum is a small working group in north London, researching the conscientious objectors who were associated with the districts of Hornsey, Tottenham and Wood Green (now comprising the London Borough of Haringey)." "The aims of the working group are to research the lives of conscientious objectors and their supporters; promote activities and events within Haringey to commemorate the local conscientious objectors and develop educational materials and activities to inform the wider public of the legacy of war resistance before, during and after the First World War. Text taken from their blog which reports on their voluntary activity to inform the wider public of the work.
