Описание: 26 May 2018. A brief visit to Housmans bookshop, Peace House, 5 Caledonian Road, Kings Cross, London N1 9DX, UK My photos were taken in the basement. Years ago I remember this being a bit grim and grungy. As you can see, those days are gone. I bought a children's book to read with Cassie who is coming up to her sixth birthday. Hope she likes Alexis Deacon's story and Viviane Schwarz's illustrations in: 'I am Henry Finch'. I was attracted by the cover illustration (a thumbprint turned into a bird) and quickly read the story - laughing out loud when Henry Finch confronts 'The Beast'. I also bought Stuart Hall's Familiar Stranger; A Life Between Two Islands. It's described as both autobiography and memoir. I've been looking forward to reading this since the review by Colin Grant. As Housmans suggest on their website: "Support the shop that supports your campaigns!" _____________________________ § Housmans on Twitter. § Location with Google maps. § Hidden London website says Laurence Housman was a younger brother of the poet AE Housman. Laurence was an illustrator, poet, playwright and author. Also a founder member of the Men's League for Women's Suffrage and the Peace Pledge Union. § Publisher's website: Walker Books. And links to other illustrated books by Alexis Deacon and Viviane Schwarz.
