Описание: Every so often I report the failure by Haringey Council in maintaining this flower bed adjoining Coombes Croft Library Tottenham. It's part of the library forecourt. The mural was painted by professional artist Cath Rive on the flank wall of No. 731 High Road. It represents national flowers from many of Tottenham's diverse communities. In October 2007, David Lammy, our Member of Parliament came to a ceremony to mark completion of the mural. Ever since, Haringey has failed to maintain the raised flowerbed properly. Though eventually weeds are cut back, these pesky plants grow back. Who'd have thought it? The Council Leader, Claire Kober and her allies claim their policies are helping to successfully regenerate the Borough of Haringey. In particular they focus on this part of north-east Tottenham. What should we make of their inability to ensure that basic tasks are not done properly and in a timely way? Tasks like keeping our streets free of rubbish, mending potholes in the roads and trimming back bushes and invasive ivy on a raised flowerbed? At the same time they seem to have no hesitation in "restructuring", raising the salaries and issuing new grandiose job titles their most senior staff.
