Описание: 8 August 2016. A positive change on Tottenham Green. The ugly electricity substation has been screened by a row of plants and bushes. One of the changes made in the redesign programme completed in Spring 2015. Congratulations to the architect Graeme Sutherland on this partial solution to longstanding problems. A more radical and apparently obvious solution is to move the substation. But this brings further problems. Such as where it should go instead - as there's no obvious location. Plus I assume there's a problem of cost. (And perhaps of negotiation with the utility company about wayleaves.) So Graeme Sutherland's solution - paint it a dark green and screen it with plants - is practical and sensible. _____________________ § What are the longstanding problems? At its worst this substation was used as a public latrine.
