Описание: Thanks to elected councillor, Clive Carter for publicising this Haringey Council endorsed advertisement for a local restaurant - known as Chicken Town.
The ad is on an illuminated panel on the south side of Seven Sisters Road near the carpark for Wickes Store. It was one of two I saw along this section of Seven Sisters Road N15. Clive pointed out that on the reverse side of the same panel is an ad for another chicken meal - MacDonald's Mayo Chicken. (Please scroll down to view.)
As I recall, Haringey's deal with JC Decaux - for illuminated advertising sites - allowed the company to erect advertising panels. One side is for commercial ads. Haringey Council is supposed to use the other side for public information.
On 22 October 2016 when I took these photos, I saw the public information / commercial separation fairly observed on at least three other illuminated signs in Seven Sisters Road.
But the two ads extolling Chicken Town as "London's Best Fried Chicken", were not public information but simply touting for customers for a heavily subsidised Council-favoured business.
