Описание: A detour on our way to Liverpool Street station. Around Broadgate Circle, building works are underway. In the meantime - at least to me - the place seemed weird. It gives a far better picture and a more accurate overview than these three separate photos I took on 9 August. ______________________________ lb4.5 Billion Overhaul According to Mike Phillips' article in Bisnow website (2 May 2018) Broadgate is having a lb4.5 billion "overhaul", which "mirrors the changes sweeping through London". Mike Phillips mentions the 2007 crash and Brexit as drivers in the change. Also explaining that: "Broadgate's evolution mirrors what is happening in central business districts across the world, as traditional offices are converted into mixed-use schemes that more closely fit what modern urbanites want from cities." "Gone is the corporate reception of UBS days, and in its place is The Nursery Theatre, an arts charity for young people focusing on improv theatre which is partly funded by Broadgate. The organisation also runs a caf'e and deli." Adding that the ten year plan would: "make a significant retail corridor. Overall it would make Broadgate the largest retail destination in the City."
