And here it is again, the claim that "Tottenham" — perhaps our area , or perhaps only the club itself — will see "major sport-led regeneration". An optimistic claim that seems to be accepted uncritically by the so-called 'leaders' of our local Council. They and their Public Relations team do their best to bombard anyone who'll listen or read, with self-congratulating propaganda. Put out in complicity with these street billboards which are full of upbeat slogans. Promises to "change lives", of "creating opportunities of regeneration. By people who are "passionate about Tottenham Plans it seems, without without dangers and potential failures. Promises without risks. A game where everyone wants winners and nobody loses. Except of course that neither football nor sport-led regeneration are games. Both are deadly serious businesses where real people risk losing their homes and businesses, and damaging the prospects for the future.
