Описание: 30 August 2016. Walking across Russell Square Park, Suresh and I came across this gazebo where a local Friends of the Square group were running a small fundraising event. Currently in England there is pressure to increase commercial involvement in parks and other green spaces to compensate for Government cuts. In September 2016 The Guardian newspaper had a news item about a report by the UK Heritage Lottery Fund which warned: "... of a continuing a decline in the condition of parks as austerity budget cuts squeeze council budgets". The report quoted Mike Camley, Chair of the Parks' Alliance said parks were at a “tipping point” He called on the government and local authorities to recognise the benefits of parks and fund them appropriately. _____________________________ § Link to the website of London Green Spaces Friends Groups Network - LFGN.
