Описание: Hans Sloane (1660 – 1753) physician, naturalist and collector, bequeathed his collection to the nation. It provided the foundation for both the British Museum and the Natural History Museum. Sloane owned albums of watercolours by Maria Sibylla Merian (1647-1717) naturalist and scientific illustrator.
