This photo "About The Pirate Castle "The Pirate Castle (Charity number: 1138787) provides adventurous outdoor recreation and training opportunities for children, young people and disability groups of all ages. Canoeing, kayaking and canal boating are core to our work and we are passionate about inclusion and equal access for all. "Founded on the philosophy that central London’s waterways offer many untapped opportunities for leisure and learning, over the past 50 years we have helped transform our local stretch of the Regent’s Canal from an underutilised resource to a thriving hub of community activity. "In 2008 the Pirate Castle was extensively re-modelled, enabling us to broaden provisions for disability groups at our fully-accessible venue. Our purpose-built, wheelchair accessible canal boat “Pirate Prince” followed in 2011, opening up the waterway experience for all to enjoy. "Today, we continue to reach out to local communities, schools and support organisations to provide safe, stimulating activities that promote personal development, enhance health and wellbeing and bring people together - regardless of their ability or personal circumstances. Our free and heavily subsidised projects ensure that everyone can benefit from the Pirate Castle’s unique approach to training and adventure on the Regent’s Canal."
