Описание: 2 July 2016. The facade of the former night club "industry", previously known as "The Opera House", in Chesnut Road, Tottenham N17. . In the past, people refused to believe me when I told them that behind Tottenham Police Station we had an Opera House. Well, it was the Opera House Nightclub. Though more recently - still a night club - it's name was changed to Industry. Now almost completely demolished, apart from the facade. On 8 April 2013, Bruce Thain, a local journalist, reported on plans for this site. including comments from the developer Stewart Wellington. He was granted planning permission by Haringey Borough Council to build a four storey block with 64 student rooms. The plan retains the building's original facade. The plan for the new building includes 160 square metres of solar panels, a green living roof and secure cycle space to reduce the buildings environmental impact. In the 2013 news item, Bruce Thain mentioned that the planning permission included agreement that the owner of the building, Steven Webster, would pay lb150,000 towards affordable housing and pedestrian safety in the borough. At the time, Mr Wellington said he was negotiating with universities and colleges in North London to guarantee that all rooms in the building will be occupied by students.
