Описание: whenever you hire someone to take you to a touristy place in egypt, the trip inevitably includes a "complementary" trip to some "museum" or "factory" or "demonstration" to show you how some craft was performed in ye olde days. the side-trip involves a short half-assed demonstration or exhibit, followed by a hard-sell sales pitch to get you to buy the craft you were just shown in the exhibit. so, for example, you might be shown how papyrus was made in ancient egypt, and then get leaned on to buy a bunch of touristy papyrus drawings. in this case included in my trip to the valley of kings, was a stop at this alabaster "factory." the factory turned out to be these two guys sitting in the parking lot under a sign about how alabaster is made. they briefly demonstrated how you bang on raw alabaster, then took me into a shop and spent the next 30 minutes trying to get me to buy a bunch of alabaster statues that i didn't want.
