Описание: the entrance to the great temple of ramses ii at abu simbel. the temple used to be along the banks of the nile river. but with the building of the high dam at aswan, the entire abu simbel complex would be submerged under lake nassar. between 1964 and 1968, the entire complex, both the great temple of ramses and the temple of hathor and nefertari were moved stone by stone and grafted into a new hillside at higher elevation. now it sits at the banks of lake nassar. it's both a marvel of the ancient and modern world.
