фото: View north on Golden Gate Bridge

Описание: I doubt that many tourists will stumble across this shot, but I'll offer some unsolicited advice in case one does: consider saving your Golden Gate hike for late afternoon or the weekend. You'll have plenty of company, but won't have to dodge cyclists, and the cyclists won't have to dodge you. The pathway shown is on the inland side of the bridge. You can't see it in this picture, but there's another on the Pacific side. The bridge powers-that-are open this Pacific-side path exclusively for bicyclists after 3:30 p.m. on weekdays, and all day on weekends. All is presumably well then. (I haven't crossed often enough recently enough to say.) Bike riders have their space; pedestrians have theirs. If you visit before 3:30 p.m. on a weekday, you'll find that the inland pathway shown must be shared by walkers and riders alike. The bloke in the picture has plenty of room, but that's because I closed the shutter early in the morning. By the time I walked back a couple of hours later, this pathway was jammed with tourists on foot, and frequently frustrated bicyclists trying to remain polite while navigating around them. How about coming early on a weekday, as I did? You can give it a try, but are likelier to have to deal with fog.
