Описание: Backs of heads in the Tokyo subway at rush hour. Crowded, yes, but not that crowded, or at least not when compared to cars I would ride in Seoul and Shanghai. I had room to hoist my camera, didn't I? I think this is as good a place as any to cheerfully remind transit foes of an argument I haven't heard for awhile: the potential to inadvertently fuel an epidemic by jamming commuters nose to jowl in earth-friendly public transit vehicles. I was around much hacking and wheezing while riding the Tokyo and Seoul rails, and eventually came down with what my fellow riders had. (Or think I did; maybe I caught it while photographing the Amazon shown elsewhere in this photo set.) I haven't asked an epidemiologist what she thinks of public transit, and might not like what I'd hear if I did.
