фото: Joining the Sydney Harbour Bridge, 1930 - State Library of New South Wales

Описание: After almost two years of construction, the huge steel arches of the Sydney Harbour Bridge were first joined on 19 August 1930. Two masses of steel had to be lowered by loosening the massive cables holding the structure upright. As these were nearing their final placement, two men started work inside the gap where the final castings were to be placed. The men can be seen in this photo taken by local church rector and keen photographer Frank Cash. The image was later copied to this lantern slide by Queensland engineer GF Matthews for his public lectures. by Frank Cash from lantern slide donated by Mrs AH Gray, 1975 SLIDES 213 collection.sl.nsw.gov.au/record/nM7leXmY/3mQvoQp4agQ4o On display in State Library of New South Wales Exhibition 'Shot' www.sl.nsw.gov.au/exhibitions/shot
