Описание: Bill Onus’s boomerang, New South Wales, 1941 by Ray Olson William Townsend Onus Jr was born at the Cummeragunja Aboriginal Reserve near Echuca, New South Wales. His mother was of Yorta Yorta descent and his father was a Wiradjuri man. Onus was a member of the Aborigines Progressive Association, and a consummate showman. By the late 1930s he had introduced thousands of people to the art of throwing a boomerang. In 1941 he was working at the Pennant Hills Koala Park when he was invited to teach Australian soldiers how to use the weapon.
