Описание: The hole was from acidic corrosion where the meter was pressing against the house foundation wall, as it was installed in 1991. It replaced the existing unit then to update with a meter that could transmit the gas meter reading. Gas was (of course) escaping through the hole into the house, taking the gas level to 2,000 parts per million in the basement. The gas leak was fortunately somewhat minimal (relative to the size of the hole) since it was pressing into the wall. The house didn't blow up. We didn't die. The photo is taken of the meter sitting out by the Washington Gas truck, having been removed from the house.
