Описание: On the forecourt of the city of Pyatigorsk there is a monument to S.M. Kirov. Kirov has been to Pyatigorsk many times. At this place, the first monument to Kirov was erected on December 1, 1940, by the sculptor S.D. Merkulov. He was taken to Germany during the occupation. February 1, 1959 opened a new one. The monument was designed by sculptor A.S. Kondratiev and architect A, V.Sotnikov. The monument has not been repaired since 1959 and has never been changed. Not only a monument reminds of Kirov in the city, but also its name is immortalized in the name of the sanatorium, street, station square, school and culture and recreation park of the city of Pyatigorsk. On many buildings of the city, memorial plaques are attached, indicating the presence of Kirov in them.
