: All Rights Reserved kyoto, japan this shinto shrine is a pilgrimage spot for high school students, who come by the busloads from all over japan to pray for success in college entrance exams....it is also the site of one of two famous monthly flea markets in kyoto. kitano's is held on the 25th of every month.... for over two years, i lived in the "the pleides" apartments on the main flea market street....(yes, i lived in the pleides)...vendors usually began setting up their stalls well before dawn, right under my window..it was a wonderful place to live....got first dibs on everything.....
